Research on the Grammatical Nature of Preverbal "Shi"

Abstract
According to the semantic difference between zhi and zhishi,it should be asserted that shi,which is a compounding morpheme of zhishi,denoted some semantic part to the whole word.Meanwhile,many questions can not be solved syntactically with the co-occurrence of shi and modal,shi and time adverbs,manner adverbs if the preverbal shi was focus marker.In brief,the preverbal shi should locate its grammatical nature on a link verb.
