Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of moxifloxacin versus ceftriaxone combined with azithromycin in the treatment of community acquired pneumonia.METHODS:60 patients with community acquired pneumonia were enrolled in randomized controlled study and randomly divided into 2 groups.Trial group were given moxifloxacin 0.4g once a day(i.v..) Control group were given ceftriaxone 3.0 g and azithromycin 0.5 g once a day(i.v..) The total duration of therapy was 7~10 days in both groups.RESULTS:After treatment,There was no statistical differences between 2 groups in respect of therapeutic effect, bacterium clearance rate and safety(P0.05.) CONCLUSION:Moxifloxacin is effective and safe as ceftriaxone combined with azithromycin in the treatment of community acquired pneumonia.
