Abstract

Based on records of bird bandings in Suichuan County,the existing literature,and long-term field surveys,the number of bird species in Jiangxi Province was retabulated. The results showed that there were 481 species belonging to 60 families and 19 orders,and accounting for 36.11% of the total number of bird species of China. Among them,12 species belonged to I-grade,72 to II-grade protective birds of nation,and 95 to provincial-level protective birds in Jiangxi. Some wrong records of bird species in Jiangxi were corrected in this paper.
