On the integration of reference services in academic libraries

Abstract
Both traditional reference service and digital reference service have advantages and disadvantages.Under the network environment,the trend of the reference service in college libraries is the integration of these two types of reference services.The article discusses how to combine the traditional reference service and the digital reference service in the following five aspects: information resources,human resources,consulting agency,service methods and service charges.
