Academic journals' academic impact evaluation based on the impact factors,in essence,is conducted according to citation data. Therefore,the academic and publishing circles have generally recognized it. The article,with the help of relevant theory and the specific data,discusses the three levels like the significance and characteristics,the lack and the cognition of the evaluation based on the impact factors impact factors,and makes a case study of Journal of Guangdong University of Technology -Social Sciences Edition.
