The Correlation Between Serum VEGF Level and Tissue VEGF Expression in Gastric Cancer and Their Clinical Significance

Abstract
To investigate the relationship between serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) level and tissue VEGF expression in patients with gastric cancer,the serum VEGF level in patients with gastric cancer and gastric ulcer were detected by ELISA.The expression of VEGF in tissue of gastric cancer and gastric ulcer were detected by immunohistochemical(IHCA) method.The results showed that the serum VEGF levels in patients with gastric cancer were significantly higher than that of control group(P0.01);the tissue VEGF positive rate in patients with gastric cancer was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05).The results suggested that VEGF would play a significant role in gastric cancer's growth and development.The serum VEGF level is correlated with the expression of VEGF in gastric cancer tissue.It suggested that the serum VEGF level in gastric cancer might be used to determine the tissues VEGF positive expression.
