Abstract
To study the expression of transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-β1) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and the correlation between them in patients with gastric cancer. The serum TGF-β1 and VEGF levels in 58 patients with gastric cancer were detected by ELISA.The results showed that the serum levels of TGF-β1 and VEGF in patients with gastric cancer were significantly higher than that of control group(P0.01).There was a positive correlation between TGF-β1 and VEGF levels in patients with gastric cancer(r=0.365,P0.01).The positive regulation of TGF-β1 to VEGF might highly promote the progress and lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer.
