Abstract

Experiments concerning the fresh-keeping effect of ZnCl 2 on cut rose flower ( Rose hybrida Hort. ) in vase were conducted. Compared with CK and basic reservative solution (BS) (20 g/L Sucrose+500 mg/L CA+250 mg/L 8-HQ+25 mg/L AgNO 3), vase-holding time of cut rose flowers were prolonged 10%~60% in improved preservative solution (BS+ZnCl 2), and the quality of the flowers was improved obviously. Among the concentrations of ZnCl 2 treated, 10 mg/L was the most effective. Treated with improved presservative solution, fresh weights of cut rose flowers in vase were increased, and decrease in anthocyanidin content and increase in relative permeability of petals during vase holding was slowed down.
