Abstract
This paper, using literature consultation and comparative analysis, makes a research of the content system of functional physical training in aspects of connotation, value, fuction and training as well as its practical application and relationship with traditional physical training. The research shows that functional physical training is based on systemic physical training and is supplementary to traditional physical training, that functional physical training,, based on the emphasis of high quality and correct action model, focuses on action-training rather than muscle strength and attaches importance to the completeness pf action training and action order; it is complete physical exercise related to physical feelings which involves many joints and many systems, and that there is no sound theoretical training system about functional physical training and it is seldom apllied in the practice of athletic sports.
