Abstract
Objective To investigate the neuroeletrophysiologic feature and clinic significance of Guillian-Barre's syndrome(GBS) in children.Methods Routine examinations of never conductions velocity and electromyography were applied on various nerves and muscles of 41 GBS children.Results 79% patients appeared abnormal nerves,thereinto 69% was abnormal nerve conduction velocity(NCV),15% had the decrease of amplitude(AMP),the delay of distal latency(DL) was 41%.29% patients' sensory nerves were abnormal.The rate of abnormal sensory nerves conduction velocity(SCV)was 25%,the rate of decrease amplitude was 17%.Abnormal F wave was 90%.Among the 87 muscles checked by electromyogram(EMG),48% was neurogenic.Conclusions Guillian-Barre'syndrome(GBS) of children results in wide peripheral nerve damage.Neuroeletrophysiologic examination is a reliable diagnosis of GBS in children.
