The initial investigation of food allergens of childhood allergic diseases in shanghai

Objective To investigate major food allergens of allergic diseases in Shanghai in a multi-center study and a large sample approach.Methods Skin prick test(SPT)for 13 kinds of food allergens were conducted in 2928 allergic children and 100 healthy controls.The positive rate of the allergens was compared between each group.Results SPT positive rate of the 13 kinds of food allergens was 25.1% of the allergic children group,which is significantly higher than that of the control group(8.0%,P 0.01).There were differences in some allergen SPT positive rate between different age group and area group,with statistical significance(P 0.05).Conclusions Food allergens play an important role in allergic diseases.SPT had clinical value in the diagnosis of allergic diseases.The SPT positive rate of food allergens was related to the age.
