Abstract

Objective:To explore the therapeutic efficacy of microsurgical neurovascular decompression on primary trigeminal neuralgia. Methods:Thirty one patients were treated with microsurgical neurovascular decompression. All were followed up for 6 to 12 months. Results:After operation, the trigeminal neuralgia disappeared immediately in all cases. The effective rate was 100%.No pain recurred. Conclusions:Microsurgical neurovascular decompression is safe and effective for treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia.
