On the artistic beauty of one poem by Mao Zedong

Abstract

The seven-syllable regulated verse Reply to a Friend by Mao Zedong is a representative work of his poems written after the founding of People’s Republic of China. An analysis of the artistic beauty of this poem will help the reader to have a comprehensive understanding of artistic achievements of Mao Zedong’s poems in the aspects of image, way of expression, allusion and rhyme.
