On the Study about Ancestor Worship

Ancestor worship is the phenomenon that people respect and worship and sacrifice ancestor,honor ancestor's merits,pray for ancestor bless themselves,which can help them to reach some sorts of purpose,in order to carry forward the cause pioneered by the ancestor. It is a kind of special and progressive significance primitive religion. Ancestor worship roughly has three types,family ancestor worship,ethnic ancestor worship and industry ancestor worship. It was the embodiment of a simple humanistic thought,which expressed the people's good wishes and requirements and conducive to human progress and social development. Since ancient times,the Chinese nation has existed fine traditions that merit of caution with the dead and remember ancestors and thank ancestors. This tradition has profound inner link with ancestor worship. However,ancestor worship also produced some abuse,such as ancient men's long hair and beard,etc. In order to maintain their vested interest,some die-hards used people's psychology of ancestor worship in the name ofancestor's laws were immutable,which opposed and obstructed reform and finally seriously affected the social development.
