Abstract
Objective To present a retrospective analysis of the clinical outcome in patients treated by local intra-arterial thrombolysis (LITT) with urokinase for acute ischemic stroke of the anterior or posterior arterial circulation. Methods 41patients with acute cerebral infarction were treated by superselective infra-arterial thrombolysis in 3~24hours after onset of the symptoms of cerebral infarction. Urokinase (UK) was infused into the infracted cerebral artery at the rate of 10 000 unit/min. The total dosage of UK was 1 200 000 units. The patients were given routine treatment. The curative effect were evaluated 14 days after the treatment. Results The rate of effective, excellence, recanalization were 87.8% and 68.3% and 80.48% respectively. The neurological deficit scale score was significantly lower than before (P0.01). Conclusion Intra-arterial thrombolysis is a safe and effective therapy for acute ischemic cerebral infarction.
