Survey of Clonorchis sinensis infection in suburbs of Nanning City

[Abstact] Objective To investigate the Clonorchis sinensis infection in suburbs of Nanning City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonmous Region.Methods The survey subjects were selected by random sampling.Fecal examination was carried out in more than 1 year old residents with modified Kato-katz method for nematode eggs.Results In seven villages sampled,a total of 641 residents were surveyed,among them,372 were males and 269 were females.The average age of people was 39.66.The cases with C.sinensis infection were 361 with a prevalence of 56.32% The infection rates of C.sinensis in males and female were 72.04% and 33.83%,respectively..In geographical distribution,the highest prevalence of C.sinensis infection was recorded in Hengxian County where the infection rate was 77.22%.The infection was found in every age group but the adults were infected more seriously.Conclusion the infection rate of Clonorchis sinensis of the residents in this study is high,mainly in the young and middle-aged residents,Low age children were also more common.
