Abstract

In order to find out the characteristic of available P contents in surface soils in Shangyang tobacco- growing areas, the distribution of available P contents in 1 790 soil samples were analyzed. The results were as follows:( 1) The available P contents in the surface soil in Shaoyang tobacco- growing area was on the high side, with a mean of 25. 25 mg / kg and variation coefficient of 97. 6%. About 27. 99% of the soil samples had available P contents for suitable tobacco cultivation.( 2) The available P contents of surface soils in Shaoyang county and Xinning county were extremely significant more than that of Longhui county.( 3) The contents of available P was decreased with the rise of pH in surface soils of Shaoyang tobacco growing areas.( 4) The contents of available P increased with the rise of organic matter in surface soils of Shaoyang tobacco growing areas.( 5) Kriging interpolation map indicated that the spatial distributions of available P reduced from the middle to the northern and south- western.
