Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of Damage Control Surgery(DCS) in the treatment of serious trauma of emergency surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of 12 cases treated by DCS in emergency surgery. Results A total of 12 cases selected with the rules of DCS were treated by emergency operation to control the bleeding and contamination, and then resuscitation in ICU was performed. When the vital signs were stable, the definitive operation was performed successfully. All the patients of DCS group survived after definitive operation. Conclusion The correct selection and application of DCS can decrease the mortality of the wounded in the serious trauma.
