iSCSI——Storage Protocol over IP

Abstract

iSCSI implements the transmission of SCSI commands and data on IP network as a new network storage protocol based on IP, whose prominent merit is being constructed on the current network structure. This paper introduces the structure, address and naming conventions, security strategy and applications of iSCSI protocol. The advantages of iSCSI used in network storage are put forward.
