Abstract

The spatial growth (USGM) is developed on the basis of growth (UGM),which is more specific than UGM. The urban spatial plan could achieve its goal in virtue of USGM. This paper reviews the researches about urban growth management home and abroad and then puts forwards that in China the issue of USGM still require further studies from two aspects:the systemic research on the basic theories of USGM with Chinese characteristics,and the utilization of modern techniques to examine the effectiveness of USGM in cities.
