Abstract
Objective To discuss Significance of BNP for diagnosis and prognosis in chronic heart failure. Methods Selected 100 cases with chronic heart failure were retrospectively studied. Relationships between BNP and NYHA, LVEF, LVEDD were analyzed. All patients were divided into 400pg/mL group and ≤ 400pg/mL group according to BNP levels, and AF, old myocardial infarction and mortality rates were compared. Results With the increase of cardiac function, BNP levels were significantly increased, LVEF significantly decreased, and LVEDD significantly increased(P 0.01). BNP showed a significant positive correlation with cardiac function and LVEDD(r=0.921,0.917,P 0.01), and showed a significant negative correlation with LVEF(r=-0.960, P 0.01). AF, old myocardial infarction and mortality rates in 400pg/mL group were higher than ≤ 400pg/mL group(P 0.05 or 0.01). Conclusion Detection of plasma BNP levels reflects left ventricular function in patients with chronic heart failure, and has important clinical significance for diagnosis and prognosis.
