Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of simvastatin on osteoblast differentiation and osteogenic gene expression. Methods To select osteosarcoma cell line MG-63,using different concentrations of simvastatin(0.0625,0.125,0.25,0.5 and 1.0 μmol/L) treated osteoblasts,ALP activity detection simvastatin on osteoblast differentiation of affected. Results Through the treatment of different concentrations for osteoblasts, different concentrations of simvastatin group compared with the control group,ALP activity of osteoblasts differences were statistically significant(P0.05),using 0.25 μmol/L simvastatin treated osteoblasts, the simvastatin group and control group comparison, osteoblasts osteocalcin,ALP,I collagen mRNA expression differences were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Simvastatin by upregulating the expression of osteogenic gene mRNA levels to promotes their differentiation, which provides new targets in the prevention of osteogenic for statins.
