River channel evolution and regulation measures of Zhenjiang-Yangzhou reach of Yangtze River

Abstract
In the combination of regulation condition of Zhenjiang-Yangzhou reach in the middle and lower Yangtze River,this paper summarizes the flow-sediment characteristics and evolution features of this reach and analyzes the state quo and main problems of the river channel.The results show that in recent years,the river regime of the reach is basically stable with many unstable factors still existing in local area.The major problems are nearshore scoring of Yizheng river course by main flow,rapid development of left branch of Shiye sandbar,bank collapse resulted by successive development of left river course of Hechang sandbar and shrinkage and deposition of right course especially widening of south side-beach and extending downwards of Zhengrun sandbar.On the base of the analysis,the corresponding river channel regulation scheme and engineering measures are put forward for controlling the river regime of the whole river channel.
