Effects of Serum VEGF on the Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction by Scalp with Body Acupuncture

Objective: To investigate the effects of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) on the patients of acute cerebral infarction by scalp with body acupuncture and the mechanism of treatment.Methods: 87 cases of cerebral infarction at acute stage were randomly divided into treatment group(45 cases) and control group(42 cases).The treatment group was treated by scalp with body acupuncture combined with western medicine;the control group was simply treated by western medicine.Before and after treatment the content of serum VEGF was determined by ELISA in the two groups.Results: The contents of VEGF at the 7th,14th day after treatment in the two groups were significantly increased than those before treatment,the differences were significant(P 0.01,P 0.05),the contents of VEGF at the 7th day after treatment reached a higher level,the contents of VEGF in the treatment group at the 7th,14th day after treatment were significantly increased than those in the control group,the differences were significant(P 0.01).Conclusion: Clinical efficacy is related to the increase of the content of serum VEGF by scalp with body acupuncture.
