Abstract

As a very important part of water resources, groundwater resources are of great significance for the social and economic development. In this paper,a typical irrigation region in Shanxi is chosen as the object of research. In the process of establishing TOPSIS model, the evaluation index is weight determined objectively by entropy weight, then it improves the TOPSIS model by introducing the concept of vertical dimension to take the place of the euclidean distance in the traditional TOPSIS model, afterward it uses the improved TOPSIS model to evaluate groundwater resources carrying capacity. The results show that there are differences in groundwater resources carrying capacity of each subarea, but the whole irrigation region has a less potential, and it puts forward some measures to increase groundwater resources carrying capacity. Our research fruit has an important significance for sustainable utilization of groundwater resources in this area.
