Study of influence of quality nursing services on basic nursing quality in general surgery department

Objective To study the influence of quality nursing services on the basic nursing quality in the general surgery department.Methods 326 patients of the general surgery department were given quality nursing services in 2012.All the nursing staffs were divided into many groups and provided quality basic nursing to the patients under the leadership of senior nurses.Self-examination within department,mutual examination within large department and regular examination within nursing department were conducted using the self-designed basic nursing quality scale every month.The monthly basic nursing quality scores in 2012 were summarized and compared to those in 2011 when the quality nursing services were not conducted.The implementation effect of quality nursing services was observed.Results After the implementation of quality nursing services,in the self-examination within department,mutual examination within large department and regular examination within nursing department,all the basic nursing quality scores were significantly higher than those before the implementation of quality nursing(P0.05).Conclusion Quality nursing services can largely improve the nurses′ conscientiousness and promote the basic nursing quality in the general department.
