Abstract
Carrying on the fine traditional national culture to uplift the socialist moral mentality is an important component of the construction of the socialist harmonious culture. The traditional Chinese moral principles and ethics, though great in immensity, primarily find expressions in the Confucian school,of which ren(benevolence)is the core concept.Their essential elements manifest themselves, for the most part,in a set of ethics highlighting the principles of a government for the people, rule by virtue, and moral edification coming first and morality cultivation being the foundation.A long history with merits and demerits intermingled characterizes the traditional Chinese moral principles and ethics.
