Abstract

Objective To detect the expression of N-cadherin and MMP-3 in gastric carcinoma and investigate their relationship in neoplasm development and metastasis. Methods The study included 120 cases of gastric carcinoma as experimental group and 60 cases of normal gastric mucosa tissue as control group. We detected the expression of N-cadherin and MMP-3 in different pathological characters by using FCM.Results The expression of N-cadherin and MMP-3 was obviously higher in gastric carcinoma than that in the normal tissue. The expression of N-cadherin and MMP-3 was correlated with invasive depth, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage.A positive correlation between N-cadherin and MMP-3 was found in gastric carcinoma. Conclusion The N-cadherin and MMP-3 expression may promote the occurrence and development in gastric carcinoma. The combined detection of N-cadherin and MMP-3 may be helpful to predict the prognosis in patients with gastric carcinoma.
