Abstract

College English must change the now popular knowledge passing mode which is teacher-centered and task-oriented.We should set up a new pattern of quality-oriented educating with training students as a central task and fostering students'autonomy in learning as a leading aim.We should respect students'needs and individuality,help them re-orientate their roles and realize a transition of focus from teaching to learning.
