Abstract
A lot of hydration heat will be released in the solidification process of mass concrete, resulting in a major temperature and shrinkage change. Therefore,cracking in mass concrete will occur and affect durability of the structures. This paper is based on the theory of temperature stress in mass concrete,illustrated with some engineering examples. By the application of software Midas / Gen,we have stimulated temperature stress and hydration heat of mass concrete and summed up the stress peak distribution of mass concrete,serving as a reference for cracking control study on mass concrete.
