Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of application of serum procalcitonin(PCT),high-sensitivity Creactive protein(CRP),leukocyte(WBC)count in the early diagnosis of neonatal infection,so as to guide early treatment and reduce the incidence of complications.METHODS Totally 180 cases of infected newborns treated in our hospital from 2010 to 2013were selected, and these children were divided into three groups, namely, the bacteria group,branch/chlamydia virus group, and virus infection, according to the infectious agent(n=60cases).These children were regarded as infected group, and the other 60 newborns admitted to our hospital over the same period were regarded as a control group, and then the PCT were detected by immunochromatographic test, the hsCRP by immunological transmission turbidimetry, the WBC by blood cell analyzer.RESULTS The hs-CRP and PCT level of bacterial groups,support/Chlamydia group, and virus group were significantly higher than the healthy newborns(P0.05),and the PCT,hs-CRP levels of bacterial group were significantly higher than the branch/Chlamydiagroup,and the virus group.(P0.05);but the difference of WBC count among the four groups had no significance; The sensitivity of PCT+WBC,PCT+hs-CRP,hs-CRP+WBC of the four groups of newborn were 59.5%,89.1%,62.2% and the specificity were 61.1%,88.9%,30.6%.CONCLUSIONPCT,CRP,WBC count can be used as effective indicators in the early diagnosis of neonatal infection, and PCT+hsCRP joint detection has high application value.
