Clinical effect observation of two different type root canal filling materials

Abstract

Objective To observe and compare the one week clinical effects of Cortisomol and iodoform zinc oxide eugenol in root canal filling theropy.Methods Selected 218 teeth of 162 patients were randomly divided into two groups.In the Cortisomol group,there were 110 teeth of 84 patients,and in the iodoform zinc oxide eugenol group,there were 108 teeth of 78 patients.After normal root canal preparation and sterilization,the teeth were treated respectively with the Cortisomol permanent root filling material and the iodoform zinc oxide eugenol filling material for root canal filling theropy.Results In the Cortisomol group,there were 8 teeth responded with clinical reaction,accounted for 7.3%.While in the iodoform zinc oxide eugenol group,there were 21 teeth responded with clinical reaction,accounted for 7.3%.There was significant difference between the two kinds of root canal filling materials (P 0.05).Conclusion Cortisomol can reduce the aft treatment reaction of root canal filling,and is a better root canal filling material.
