Abstract

Kang You wei first suggested the government to take the orthodoxy of Confucius as the national religion at the end of Qin dynasty. And his opinion was supported in the beginning of the People's Republic of China for the moral crisis. But it failed finally because of the attack of Sciencism which was stimulated by the theory of evolution. The failure of this movement reflects the dilemma of the modern transformation of Chinese culture.
