Abstract

Shen Congwen respected and pursued freedom,independence in creating ideal,however in fact,the reality of life was against him in all matters.Even in the 1930s of flourishing thoughts of liberalism,Shen Congwen can not escape the reality of numerous thorns.This article studied Shen Congwen who struggled in the thought of liberalism in the 1930s from three different perspectives,namely the pressure of livelihood,the frustration of career, and the unhappiness of love.
