Abstract
Objective To study components of pathogenic fungi strains in 173 cases of superficial mycosis. Methods The clinical specimens from 173 patients with superficial mycosis, which presented positive results of the direct microscopic examination, were examined with the culture and identification of isolates of causative fungi. Results Nine kinds of pathogenic fungi strains were isolated, including Trichophyton rubrum 71 strains(41.04%),Trichophyton mentagrophytes 32 strains(18.50%),Candida Albicans 25 strains(14.45%),other yeast-like bacterium 9 strains(5.20%),Microsporum canis 22 strains(12.72%),Microsporum gypseum 4 strains(2.31%),Aspergillus 4 strains(2.31%),Alternaria alternata 2 strains(1.16%),Epidermophyton floccosum 1 strains(0.58%),and 3 mixed fungal infection(1.73%).Conclusion The predominant pathogenic fungi of superficial mycosis is dermatophytes. Recently other fungal strains infection have grown significantly.
