Abstract
The patriarchal clan created by the West Zhou was an open and progressive system.The ethics ofvirtue and Filial Pietylaid the foundation of the open national form,constructed the harmonious rule pattern and patriarchal hierarchy.This patriarchal clan system not only played an irreplaceable role in consolidating the patriarchal political,economic structure of the West Zhou,but also establishing Confucius’s open benevolence thought.
