Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect progress of acute cerebral infarction and nerve function in elderly patients. Methods 188 elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction were divided into two groups. All the patients were given basic diseases treatment and symptomatic treatment for cerebral infarction, and treatment group was given rosuvastatin 10mg/d,taking orally before sleeping. The treatment course was 4 weeks. The clinical effect,NIHSS score, index of BI and side effect was analyzed. Results The total effective rate in treatment group and control group was 91.5% and 74.5%,it was statistically different(P0.05).After admittion, the NIHSS scores were increased in both groups(P0.05).Compared with control group, the NIHSS score at 4 weeks after attack was remarkably reduced, and symtom up to peak time shorten(P0.05).The index of BI in treatment group were improved more remarkably than that in control group(P0.05).There was no serious side effect was found between the two groups. Conclusion It is safe and effective of statins for acute cerebral infarction in elderly patients,it can contribute to slow disease progression, reduce brain damage, and improve the prognosis.
