Abstract

Objective :A new catalytic photometric method for the determination of trace chromium(Ⅵ) was established. METHODS:O-methoxyphnol was oxidized by ammonium persulfate under the catalysis of trace chromium(Ⅵ) in H 2SO 4 medium, the colored product revealed the maximum absorption peak at 513nm. RESULTS: The linear range and detection limit were 0.016~1.6 μg/25 ml and 5 42×10 -10 g/ml respectively. The relative standard deviation(RSD) was found to be less than 3.27% and the standard material-added recovery rate was from 97.6% to 101.1% .CONCLUSION: This method was rapid ,accurate and convenient for the determination of trace chromium(Ⅵ) in several environment water samples.
