The Influence of Jin Merchants in Ming & Qing Dynasties on Shanxi's Traditional Operas

During the 500 years of Ming and Qing dynasty,while succeeding in their business,large numbers of Shanxi merchants earnestly and actively invested in the establishment of theatrical company and amateur society.In this way they cultivated numerous artistic talents of the local traditional operas and made an enthusiastic exploration into the reform and the development of the traditional operas.Besides,through various business activities and the establishment of Shanxi guilds,they spread the artistic culture of Shanxi traditional operas throughout the country and even abroad,meanwhile,it also took in the nutrition of the alien opera arts,which promoted the renovation of Shanxi traditional operas in tune,instrumental music and other aspects and contribute to the maintenance of evergreen status of opera art.
