Abstract
Objective To report the clinical course,diagnosis,and treatment of one patient with chondroblastoma invading the middle cranial fossa and infratemporal fossa,with a review of related literature.Methods Clinical data of one patient with chondroblastoma invading the middle cranial fossa and infratemporal fossa was analyzed.MEDLINE literature search from 1966 to 2008 was perfomed.Results Chondroblastoma of this patient was originated from the middle cranial fossa and communicated to the infratemporal fossa.Surgical treatment was performed through zygomatic approach and Gamma-knife therapy was applied postoperatively.The patient was followed up for one year,and the symptoms got relived without postoperative complications.Conclusion Complete excision is recommended for temporal bone chondroblastoma and the residual tumor can be treated by the Gamma-knife therapy postoperatively.
