Abstract
[Objective] To study the expression of MMP- 2 in breast cancer cells and the relationship with invasiveness and metastasis. [Methods] The expression of MMP-2 in 60 breast cancer specimens was detected by immunohistochemical method. [Results] The expression of MMP-2 in breast cancer cells was stronger than in normal breast cells (P0.01). The expression of MMP-2 was significantly higher in cases with lymph node metastases than in those non-lymph node metastases(P0.01). The expression of MMP-2 in G2-3 breast cancer was significantly higher than in G1(P0.01). But no correlation between expression of MMP-2 and type of tissue was observed (P0.05). [Conclusion] The expression of MMP-2 in breast cancer correlate with invasiveness and metastasis.
