The Investigation of Health Knowledge and Behaviors among Residents in Yinchuan City

Objective To Investigate the status of health knowledge and behaviors of the residents in communities of Yinchuan.Methods A total of 1200 residents were selected with multi-stage random sampling to undergo a survey in Jingfeng,Xixia and the Xingqing district of Yinchuan city.Results In Yinchuan city,the health knowledge of community residents was at high level of as most people agree that smoking and passive smoking could cause cancer,cardiovascular diseases and respiratory diseases(93.5%).Correct understanding rate of pre-marital check and breastfeeding were 91.7% and 96.1%,respectively.96.8% residents believed that patients should avoid unnecessary injections and infusion.Based on a multiple factors analysis,education level,family income,age,illness,family resident population.Family income,gender,family resident population were related with health knowledge of residents with while age,educational level,whether sick had association with health behavior formation.Conclusion In Yinchuan city,the health knowledge of community residents was generally at high level.A series of factors including age,education degree,family income and family residents population had effects on health knowledge and health behavior of the residents.
