On Pre-Qin Confucian "King Worship" and "Sage Worship" and Their Historical Influences

According to the records of ancient books,there is no strict difference between king worship and sage worship in logical concepts.Pre-qin Confucian school became a famous school,won over other schools with its six classics in the following years and became an integral part of Chinese culture.Thus,its king worship and sage worship deeply influenced the ancient world.As the three greatest scholars of pre-qin Confucian school,Kongzi,Mengzi,and Xunzi firmly believed in king worship.However,because ZHOU Dun-yi,SHAO Yong and some other scholars firmly believed in Kongzi,there came into being a new orthodox belief system based on sage worship,which actually replaced king worship and became a main belief system of Confucian school.In all,both king worship and sage worship had a great influence on China's ancient history.
