Abstract
By directing the synthesis of the telomeric repeats to the chromosome ends,telomerase prevented the decline of cellular proliferation with telomere abridging.Tumor cells,stem cells and some other cells showed high activities of telomerase.With antisense oligonucleotide technique,the whole cDNA of human telomerase RNA(hTR)was integrated inversely into human breast cancer cells MCF 7 in which antisense hTR RNA was expressed constantly.The results showed that the downregulation of telomerase activity significantly suppressed the DNA repair ability by single cell gel electrophoresis assay,though the mechanism was not clear yet.
