Abstract
Purpose To investigate whether or not the pulmonary artery participates in the blood supply of lung cancer and its change of morphology in lung cancer. Methods The DSA and CTA of pulmonary artery were performed simultaneously in 20 patients with bronchogenie carcinoma (14 center tumors and 6 peripheral tumors). Results DSA of 12 patients showed that pulmonary blood flow and perfusion were reduced or absent in the affected area and CTPA(CTA of pulmonary artery ) showed that the branch of pulmonary artery were narrowed or encased by the tumor, and some of them were not able to be seen. DSA of 8 patients showed the branches of pulmonary artery and pulmonary blood perfusion were normal in the affected area and CTPA showed that the branches of pulmonary artery were normal or attached to the tumor. DSA and CTA of pulmonary artery of 20 patients disclosed that the pulmonary artery did not form tumor vessel. Conclusion The pulmonary artery doesn't participate in the blood supply of lung cancer. It is unreasonable to perform transcatheter chemo embolization for lung cancer via pulmonary artery.
