Breeding and Cultivation of the New Super-sweet Corn Variety of Etianyu No.5

Abstract

The single cross hybrid super-sweet corn Etianyu No.5 was bred by Wuhan Trade-wind Crop Sciences Co., Ltd by using sh17 as the female parent and sh34 as the male parent in 2003. The results of field trials in two years showed that it had high sweetness, high yield,good taste quality, strong adaptability. It is suitable for processing and fresh-eating. Its high yield can be obtained with reasonable cultivation techniques.
