Application of 64-slice CT in Image Formation of Middle and Inner Ear

Abstract

Objective To study on image formation of middle and inner ear structure using the deuto-millimeter scanning and isotropy feature of 64 slice CT,in order to approach the application value of 64 slice CT in image formation of middle and inner ear.Methods 40 cases of temporal bone were deuto-millimeter scanned trabantly by 64 slice CT using style of bony remodeling to rebuild picture in transsection,and then structure of middle and inner ear was multiplanar reconstruction(MPR),contour reconstruction and volume reconstruction(VRT),at last various kinds of images were observed and analyzed.Results Axial high-resolution raw images could clearly show the subtle anatomical structure of 29 normal ears;Arbitrary plane of MPR precisely displayed the anatomy of middle and inner ear of the 29 normal cases,and the location,focus range,adjacent structures in 11 cases of middle and inner ear diseases.VRT stereographically displayed arditory ossicle and ossicular chain in 20 cases,normal bony labyrinth in 29 cases,the scope and extent of inflammatory infringement of bony semicircular canals in 3 cases.Conclusion 64 slice CT imaging could display picture quality of normal anatomic structure、various kinds of congenital and secondary diseases of aural region extraordinary directly,and it had considerable clinical significance to diagnosis of pinna diseases,formulation of operation scheme,follow-up visit after operation,evaluation on therapeutic effect,cochlea anomaly and appreciation before electrical cochlear implantation.
