Abstract
China enjoys a long tradition of poetic culture and the largest audience of poetry,which have laid a firm foundation for the flourishing of poetic creation.Nevertheless,the contemporary poetry fails to satisfy the needs of the people for poetic appreciation and finds itself in a tight corner.How to make a breakthrough and establish a poetic discourse with an enterprising spirit and reflecting the spirit of our age,therefore,has aroused general concern by men of insight.The Tibetans,one of the ethnic groups of Chinese people,also has a long standing poetic tradition. The glorious classical Tibetan poetry has not only nourished the souls of Tibetan people in the long span of history, but will exert a positive influence on the contemporary Chinese poetry with its artistic spirit of reflecting true life and seeking lofty aspiration and innovation.
