Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the absorbability of the packaged infusion sets of paclitaxel,PVC(polyvinyl chloride)or TPE(polyolefin thermoplastic elastomer)infusion sets on paclitaxel for clinical reference in the choice of infusion sets.METHODS:Solution of paclitaxel was prepared as per actual concentration needed by the clinic, and dripped through PVC,TPE and packaged infusion sets respectively, with the peak area of the dripped solution determined at different time points and compared with that at 0 h.RESULTS:In the end of infusion, the adsorption rate of PVC,TPE and packaged infusion sets on paclitaxel were-1.24%、1.8%,and 0.7%,respectively,showing no significant differences among the three infusion sets in absorbability(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Three infusion sets have no absorbability on paclitaxel.
