Abstract
For the traditional mould manufacture method, the manufacturing cycle is long and cost is high. However, rapid prototyping combined with traditional mould manufacture method,is not only suitable for the quick die manufacturing, but also can adapt to all kinds of complicated quick die manufacturing. The working principle, classification, modeling process and technology features for Rapid Tooling(RT)is first discussed. Then the difference between RT with traditional mould manufacture is also investigated,in which several typical rapid tooling technology are compared and summarized from mould life, fabrication cost and production cycle. Finally some key problems that rapid tooling manufacturing technology will face with are analyzed, which application based on rapid prototyping is prospected.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
